Mushiaki Pottery

Mushiaki Pottery is where a traditional Okayama craft

handed down from the Edo period is produced .
Visitors can see the excellent works of artists

who have inherited the techniques

handed down from the Edo period,

including Senza Kuroi, who has been certified

as an important intangible cultural asset holder

by Okayama Prefecture for his outstanding techniques.

Dawn at Mushiage Bay

The sky burns bright red, the sea and islands turn golden,

and the scenery is majestic itself.
In the poem by Taira no Tadamori, he wrote,

"When I see the Dawn at Mushiake Bay, I may forget about the capital." In March 2006, it was recognized as one of the 100 best places to view the rising sun in Japan. The best time to view the sunrise is said to be in autumn (for a week around the 210th).

Nagashima

Nagashima is also known as the "Island of Human Rights".
The National Sanatorium Nagashima Aiseien was established

as Japan's first national sanatorium for leprosy.

Visitors can learn about the history of leprosy

at the Nagashima Aiseien History Museum,

where explanations of leprosy issues

and the feelings of the residents are on display.

After climbing slowly up the walking trail,

you will see an observatory overlooking the Seto Inland Sea.

Birthplace of Takehisa Yumeji

Yumeji Takehisa, who still has many fans,

is a poet and painter of the Taisho Romantic world.

His paintings of beautiful women are especially famous.

Drawings, prints, and other works are on display

in the thatched birth house

where he lived until the age of 16.

Kuroi Mountain Green Park

A roadside station with direct local products,

craft works and exhibitions.
Visitors can enjoy seasonal events throughout the year,

such as 300 cherry trees in bloom in spring,

a mini swimming pool in summer,

Village of Osafune Sword

Located in the town of Osafune,

which has flourished as a production center of Japanese swords

since the Kamakura period (1185-1333),

this museum exhibits swords, mainly Bizen swords,

which are rare in Japan.
There is a swordsmith shop on the premises,

where visitors can actually observe

the production process of various Japanese swords.

Bizen is the hometown of Bizen Pottery

with a history of more than 1,000 years.
The Ibe area is home to many galleries and pottery studios

that offer a wide variety of pottery

with a deep flavor that fits in well
